Our Procedure & What to Expect

1. Immediate Triage
When you bring your pet to our emergency hospital, a nurse will assess their condition and prioritize care. Critical cases get immediate attention while those less critical may need to wait. If your pet is in critical condition, you may be asked to approve a resuscitation plan while the vet works to stabilize them.

3. Emergency Consultation
During the consultation, the vet will discuss your concerns and assess your pet’s condition. Using in-house tools like ultrasound, X-rays, and rapid lab tests, they can quickly diagnose and recommend treatment plans.

5. Hospitalisation in the ICU
ICU patients receive 24/7 monitoring by experienced vets and nurses to ensure top-quality critical care. Treatment plans are customized and reassessed every shift. Once your pet stabilizes, the vet will discuss discharge, follow-up care, and ongoing management. If needed, medical records will be sent to your primary vet.

2. What goes on in the treatment area?
While you fill out the registration form, a nurse will examine your pet. If they show signs of instability, a vet will be alerted immediately. Pets are prioritized based on urgency—stable pets wait with their owners, while those needing extra care may be monitored in the treatment area. Wait times may be longer if a critical patient arrives.

4. Diagnostics
X-rays and blood tests can be done the same day to assess your pet’s condition. Advanced scans like ultrasounds, echocardiograms, and CT scans are scheduled once your pet is stable. The vet will review the results with you and recommend a treatment plan, which may be outpatient or inpatient based on their advice and your decision.

6. Visitations & Communications
Visitation and discharge hours for critically ill pets are determined daily based on their treatment plan and monitoring needs. Owners receive at least one update call from the vet every 12 hours on their pet’s condition and next steps. Delays may occur if emergencies arise.
